This Friday Carter had another eye surgery. When Carter had his surgery in Michigan this May they put a bubble of silicon oil in his eye to help keep his retina in place. The oil has started to cloud Carter's cornea so it had to come out.
That little Carter is so brave.
He helps his Mommy be brave.
Carter is not too shy about telling people he is having surgery. To him it is no big deal, we go in do the surgery and be done with it. Carter never complains and consistently blows the nurses and doctors away by being so calm and matter of fact when they tell him they have to put "spicy" drops in his eyes or that they need to give him an IV.
Carter's surgery went well and he is back to his normal feisty self.
We love this little boy so much and I am amazed at the resilience of this child who has never once complained that he cannot see out of his eye or that it is sometimes hard for him to see things that the rest of us take for granted. He is strong and he carries on! I could write a book on all the lessons that Carter has taught me so I will stop for now:)
