Family Reunion 2008

We started our road trip to Idaho last Thursday. (I apologize now for the photo overload) We decided to do it in two days so we could spend some time in Jackson Hole, WY. We left about 3pm and spent the next six hours staring at the sage brush of southern Wyoming. Preston asked me why Heavenly Father created a place so ugly :) and I had to think for a minute but then I said it was probably so we will appreciate the places that really are beautiful.

All loaded up and ready to start our road trip.
We arrived in Rock Springs and fell into bed.
Preston and Carter shared a queen size bed, and Preston ended up sleep practically on top of Carter. We were worried Logan would not want to sleep since he spent most of the time in the car sleeping, but being the amazing, wonderful baby that he is he went right to bed and woke up at 5am just to eat and went back to sleep until 8am. I love this baby!!
We woke up the next morning and drove a couple of hours to Jackson. This is how Carter felt when I told him we were STILL not in Idaho! We stopped and took pictures in front of the antler arch. The boys thought that it was disgusting that these were real antlers and were not very cooperative with the picture taking, refusing to stand by the disgusting antlers and smile.
We tried to look at some shops in Jackson but the boys would have none of that. So we had lunch at the Silver Dollar in Jackson and had some the best burgers that we have had in a long time. The boys were so restless and decided to play musical chairs all through lunch. Aidan decided he wanted to sit under the table, which was fine with me. One less crazy for everyone to see. After the fun Jackson fiasco we piled back in the car for the last leg of our trip to St. Anthony, ID. Everyone was worn out from lunch so they slept the rest of the way!
Our family reunion did not start until Monday, but we came up a few days early because the boys wanted to ride Aunt Teresa's 4 wheelers. They were not disappointed. Aidan loved it so much that he did not want to get off. Aidan is still learning about sharing and taking turns.Preston was a little nervous at first, but once he got a taste of it he wanted to go as fast as Aunt Teresa would let him!Austin being a monkey on Teresa's clothes line. Austin found a hornet's nest in one of the poles.Austin and Dad having the time of their lives.Carter and Dad tearing it up in Parker, ID.

Teresa and Vail's backyard provided endless hours of fun for the boys. The old tire sandbox was full of ants which needed to be caught and examined. The boys loved showing the ants to their cousin Alexis.

Lexi was so good with those little boys, she let them show her ants and bugs galore!
Beautiful Idaho!
It really is beautiful in Idaho, it is Brian's dream to live there. I would not mind it either, it is a little boys paradise. If the boys doctors were not four hours or more away from Idaho we would be there.
More reunion to come!!!
